Aikibojitsu is a beautiful and challenging art form within which practitioners explore depths of silence and peaks of explosive power through precise and flowing movements with a staff. Based in a sophisticated and powerful approach to the martial art of Aikido, Aikibojitsu lends itself to a unique approach to a martial system that ultimately comes down to confrontation with a simple stick of wood. Aikibojitsu is an archetypal call for practitioners to look deeply at the simple and unique fact of existence, alone, but with power. A unique approach to martial arts, Aikibojitsu provides an in-depth and comprehensive examination of the power of non-resistance.
This is a large website. It contains extensive and complex discussions of non-resistive martial training as a tool not only to develop martial efficacy, but more importantly to examine existence directly. The website contains quite a few videos of Aikibojitsu, beginning with simple Short Forms and progressing through more intricate Complex Forms and into formal Kata. It is designed to aid practitioners in their study of Aikibojitsu. The best way to approach this information is to read through the site sequentially, beginning with the first page of Theoretical Foundations Spectrum of relative contraction, and then moving down the list, followed by the sections on Technical Aikibojitsu and Advanced Aikido.
This reading will provide a foundation of theory and technical information from which to begin solo practice. Select a staff for training and begin with the Short Forms, moving on to more challenging Complex Forms and finally to the four primary Kata of Aikibojitsu study. Learning the basic of hand and foot placement is (relatively) easy; free-form expression of the underlying universal determinative structures that define movements is a lifelong task.
Subscribe to the Aikibojitsu Newsletter, where you can learn from the videos and text regularly posted there, and enjoy interacting with other practitioners on the comment threads under each post.
